"Loneliness is the price we have to pay for being born in this modern age, so full of freedom, independence, and our own egotistical selves" (pg. 30, Sensei)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* Sensei goes on about how loneliness is a price to pay with modern advances. Referring to social media. Online media is only getting larger, people are the most connected internationally then ever. Although people are more connected then ever, people are the most disconnected socially. With the ability to communicate with people so easily, the population has adjusted to only communicating with people through the internet. Although, in a way, people are socializing more then ever, people are no longer physically communicating with people anymore. It is easy for myself to say I talk to people everyday, but after being alone physically for a couple of days and only talking to people through social media, I begin to feel lonely and begin to feel the same self frustration as if I were alone without my phone. In a way online communication is artificial and people are never truly satisfied with the responses. This could apply to the population in the recent generations general feelings of dissatisfaction.
